Bachelor of Accounting

The Bachelor of Accounting programme is designed to meet the academic and professional standards for accounting as benchmarked against institutions of higher education in the UK leading to the award of an honours degree. (Click for more information).

The underpinning knowledge of the curriculum for the programme is adopted from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Professional Levels 1 and 2 curriculum, which meet the breadth and depth requirement of UK based universities that awards honours degree in the field of Accounting. The evaluation of the ACCA Professional underpinning knowledge curriculum against the benchmark for Accounting degrees in the UK can be found here.

The teaching and assessment of the underpinning knowledge forms about 60% of the entire curriculum of the program. The other 40% of the programme is designed around problem-based learning and a near real life project, where candidates, organized into teams, are required to design, and evaluate the implementation of all the accounting related functions of an organization.

All programmes, including the Bachelor of Accounting degree, of Orpacific University of Technology are designed and implemented based on a competency-based approach. While the underpinning knowledge of each module in the Bachelor of Accounting programme is adopted from ACCA Professional curriculum, Orpacific has added clear performance criteria for each module to form competency standard documents, one for each module. Candidates for the Bachelor of Accounting programme must show evidence of competent performance in the graduating project, and/or in the process of the problem-based lessons, that they have achieved competence as measure against the competency standards of Orpacific.

Evidences as described above shall be multimedia recordings of demonstrations, presentations or any suitable evidences, and be presented as a portfolio for formal examination. The sets of portfolio of each candidate, at the conclusion of the entire programme, shall be organized into a Personal Graduating Digital Portfolio DVD, and this DVD shall be an integral part of the degree scroll.

Orpacific¡¯s ACCREDITATION is not only a statement that its programs meet academic and professional standards, and on the average, most graduates are competent. At Orpacific, every graduate carries with him/her the evidences that he/she is competent, as measured against published competency standards.
