Entry Requirements
Orpacific Univeristy of Technology has an equal opportunity policy. We believe everyone is entitled to a high quality education. We also believe that you should have the necessary pre-requisite knowledge for a program before you can really benefit from it. However, pre-requisite knowledge does not necessary have to come from formal education in an educational institution. Take for example someone who have been running a successful business for years but does not have any formal qualification. Certainly it would be wrong to assume that he would not have the pre-requisite knowledge to go through an MBA program. Of course, there may be gaps in his knowledge, but he may just make up through his indepth understanding in certain business concepts.
We therefore choose not to control entry requirements strictly. We however have enrolment guidelines for each program. We urge you to read these guidelines carefully. If you do not have the pre-requisite knowledge as stated in the guidelines, you will find going through the program difficult and may be unnecessarily discouraged.
Orpacific Univeristy of Technology has a zealous commitment to control output quality. We owe a duty to the community to ensure that everyone that we certify competent in a particular field is indeed competent to the degree as spelt out in our published standard document. We will work with the trainee to produce the unbiased evidence that demonstrates the competence. We will never relax our output control requirements for any candidate, and unless you can produce the unbiased evidence that you are indeed competent, we will not certify you.
In cases where you are already in a program, and if you find certain parts of the program too challenging for you at any point, you may suspend that module to acquire the pre-requisite knowledge in another program before continuing with the module. The time you take to achieve the competency specified in a module is not part of the requirement.
We welcome any eager learner to come forward to us to be trained in competencies that we offer. In the event that your prior qualifications do not meet the guidelines as published for a particular program that you want to pursue, but you feel that you are able to fulfill performance criteria of all the competency standards in the course, you may still seek admission through the special admission route.
In the special admission route, please send us a "Request for Special Admission", stating clearly why you will be able to meet the performance criteria of competency standards in the course that you want to pursue. We will evaluate your request, conduct an interview, before giving you a formal reply. In the event we do not agree with your view that you are able to meet the performance criteria, we shall recommend you some pre-requisite courses, before allowing you to enrol in your desired course.
